Today I got to bottle feed an orphan lamb (It is nowhere near as romantic as it sounds.). As per the previous LAMBS!!!11 post, I have, shall we say, a "great many" pictures and videos to sort through. So as soon as I do that you will have your proof. |=)

The RI Reds (younger batch of chickens) do everything together.  The Wyandottes and Barred Rocks strike out on their own.  It's funny to watch, b/c where you see one red chicken, you'll always see more.  But you never know when you're going to run across a solitary black and white chicken on her own adventure.  I'm not sure if it's a breed thing or ( Read more... )

Landlord comes home and asks me if he can have some of the moose I'm butchering. What moose? I said. Well, it smells like you've got a dead moose in here, he replied. OH that's my dinner--kaesespaetzle! Oh, I'm disappointed, was his rejoinder--I was really hoping for some moose.

Sheep are sheepish. They just are. When you watch them, it doesnt take long until you understand the source of the adjective intimately. Sheep are also round and fuzzy. The intrepid little lamb is at it again.

Sheep have a limited vocal range.
Pretty much all they say is "Maaaa." I haven't heard them grunt, snort, or whimper, or make any other sort of noise since I've been here.
